Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American actress, singer and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. Her most well-known role was co-starring in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the girl group Apollonia 6. The group was just one of the female artists that benefited of Prince's involvement throughout the 1980s. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her first professional venture was as a model during the 1970s. Also, she made an appearance on CHiPS. The female lead of Prince's Purple Rain was her first role in the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. The actress replaced Vanity with the female trio Vanity 6 who performed in the movie as Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter, a song from the soundtrack had a small success for the trio, but as Prince's Duet Partner on Take Me with You she became more popular. When the two had a dispute over the direction of her career Apollonia 6 broke up, and Kotero quit her relationship with Prince. Kotero went on to be featured in various minor roles throughout this time (reportedly refusing to take part on the Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) before landing in the role of a nighttime show Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia made her debut album in 1988. However, her comparatively tame collection of R&B/dance songs failed to make much impression on people who buy music and the album soon vanished from sight. Throughout the decade that followed, she remained an active actor, with a few film appearances as well as small television shows. Apollonia recorded a Spanish/English Album called Stay with Me in 1997. The singer returned to the university, received a diploma in filmmaking. She then formed her company and worked as a child's TV host. Apollonia is employed in a variety of roles. She was a model, actress, and manager of talent.
