Antonia Lofaso
Chef Antonia Lofaso's food is an invitation to dive into deep into her inner world. Food she cooks up is a result of her fascination with the cultural aspects in Los Angeles, which was sparked by a trip to Los Angeles from Long Island's suburbs. Carnitas, Cavatelli and various other cuisines can be found in a single menu. It is an ever changing sensibility. In all her dishes, she has a vision that is unique and reflects nostalgia for the past. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in 2013. She opened it because of her heritage as an Italian-American. Lofaso's interpretation of traditional Italian has been called among Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurants. The food at Lofaso is always authentic, inviting and undeniably pleasing. Lofaso was trained by renowned chefs to acquire their specialized methods. However, she was not afraid making bold choices to honor her gut instincts. In a short time, Lofaso rose to the highest level of Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In the following years, she worked alongside many celebrities, as she transformed various Los Angeles restaurants. Lofaso along with Sal Aurora partnered in 2011 to create Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City. Through Black Market and the business alliances she created, Lofaso was able to find her new home. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to create the work she desired through this collaboration. Black Market doesn't have one specific focus. That is their intention. The first course could be chip dill, followed by shishitos peppers. Next comes the Korean Wing, and lastly the meatballs course. What anchors this bold assortment of flavours is Antonia. In her long career Lofaso has measured her success by her innate ability to comprehend her audience and remain true to her own personality. Alongside her unforgettable performance on Top Chef Chicago and Top Chef: All Stars, her individuality was also recognized outside of the kitchen. Today she remains a standout on screen in her role as a CNBC judge as well as a regular role on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso published The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Easy and Delicious Recipes, in 2012, with Penguin. The book also tells the story of her challenges when she was a student in her school, the French Culinary Institute. She also raised her daughter Xea, as well. Lofaso says that the inspiration behind all of her success originates from her kitchen. This is how she keeps a pulse on current events. Chefletics is her brand new that is changing the way chefs dress. It is a blend of style and practicality. Lofaso believes that staying true the vision you have set is essential. To achieve this goal, she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. It gives customers the opportunity to experience an unrivalled service.
