
Melissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12 1988,) is a Canadian performer and actress. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to be a winner of. O'Neil is most well-known as an actress due to her roles in the series Syfy as Two and as RebeccaAs Two / Portia Lin as well as on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama series The Rookie. She was voted among the bottom three and two of the finals. In shock, the judges urged viewers to vote for contestants such as Melissa who had the most impressive vocal skills. O'Neil was acknowledged for her talent and she did not drop back to the third place. Zack Werner declared that O'Neil was "a threat" to win the whole contest. O'Neil and Rex went on to make it to the final two of the contest on September 7 the 7th of September, 2005. After yet another stunning performance, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead and long live the Queen". During the grand finale results ceremony on September 14 in 2005, O'Neil defeated Goudie to be crowned the third Canadian Idol, as well as being the first female winner, as well as (at 17) the youngest winner in the show's history.
