AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. After graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. The team made her debut in professional football and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan, who was 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and give 20 assists within the same calendar year . she became the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
